Lloyd Vliet, a marketing professional, has been leading Gay Social since its inception in February 2022. As a co-founder, Lloyd’s vision and dedication have been instrumental in driving the organization forward, fostering a vibrant and inclusive community.
"As the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Gay Social, this organization is deeply personal to me. It’s not just about hosting events or building a calendar; it’s about fostering a sense of belonging, connection, and community for LGBTQ+ individuals across New Jersey.
When we started Gay Social, it came from a desire to create spaces where people could come together without pretense or pressure, where authenticity was celebrated, and where everyone could feel seen and valued. Over the years, I’ve watched friendships form, support networks grow, and a genuine sense of camaraderie flourish.
To me, Gay Social represents the power of community. It’s a testament to what can happen when we create intentional spaces for people to connect—not just as members of the LGBTQ+ community but as individuals with shared experiences, stories, and aspirations.
